Travel and Equipment Fund

Organized by Open Youth Networks

YouthLAB Participants are Making Videos
After participating in YouthLAB this summer and gaining digital video and technology skills, several members are now making videos to better their communities.

Marisol, Andy and Zane are working on a documentary about a coal power plant in Little Village and the efforts of youth in the community to fight for environmental justice.

Seemi, Sadia and Ameenah are working on a video about the Innter City Muslim Action Network and their efforts to create bridges among youth groups in the city.

And Young Chicago Authors are working to bring their podcasts on air to the new web radio station, Vocalo!

The problem is editing equipment. While Columbia College donated older G4's for iMovie editing, what these projects really rrequire are newer Macs installed with Final Cut Pro. Can you help us. We are trying to raise $800 to buy a new version of FCP and $2,200 for a Laptop that can be lent out to youth as tthey need it. We also need camcorders, extrnal firewire hard drives, lights and microphones if you have any used equipment.

Email mindyfaber@comcast.net with your questions or offers!

tThanks for showing youth that their efforts to make their communities better are appreciated and valued!
